LEAVING HERE - Eddie Holland

Claramente Eddie Holland nos esta diciendo "Se que os va a gustar". Buen tema el que traemos hoy. Eddie Holland fue uno de los primeros artistas en pisar la Motown, y posteriormente formar parte del famoso Holland–Dozier–Holland, responsables de escribir y producir gran parte de los éxitos de la compañía. La canción Leaving Here fue precisamente escrita por este séquito en 1963, alcanzando el puesto 76 en el Billboard Hot 100 y el 27 en el Billboard R&B. Más adelante esta fue la canción elegida por Motörhead para su single de debut en 1977. La canción ha sido versioneada por varias bandas, tales como The Birds, The Who, Pearl Jam...

KILLER JOE - The Rocky Fellers

Una de mis canciones favoritas. Así de claro. The Rocky Fellers 8me encanta el nombre) fue una banda de los 60's compuesta por 4 hermanos filipinos y su padre (aunque para mi los hermanos eran solo los dos pequeños), una especia de Jackson 5 del Rock n' Roll. Los descubrió Stanley Kahn y los fichó para Spector Records. El single Killer Joe que hoy traemos lo escribió Bert Russell y Bob Elgin en 1963. La verdad que el grupo tuvo poca trayectoria, un par de singles más, un tema de navidad (Santa, Santa) compuesto por el aún desconocido Neil Diamond, y punto y final a eso de mediado de los 60's con la llegada del British Invasion bands!

I'LL CRY INSTEAD - Joe Cocker

Hoy traemos el primer sencillo con el que se dio a conocer Joe Cocker alla en el año 1964. Y fue con una versión del tema I'll Cry Instead, publicada por The Beatles ese mismo año en su album A Hard Day's Night. La verdad que aunque sea fan de los cuatro de Liverpool me quedo con esta versión del joven y patilludo Cocker, sin duda.
