I'LL CRY INSTEAD - Joe Cocker

Hoy traemos el primer sencillo con el que se dio a conocer Joe Cocker alla en el año 1964. Y fue con una versión del tema I'll Cry Instead, publicada por The Beatles ese mismo año en su album A Hard Day's Night. La verdad que aunque sea fan de los cuatro de Liverpool me quedo con esta versión del joven y patilludo Cocker, sin duda.

FEVER - James Brown

La verdad que temazo y artistazo el que nos visita hoy en el blog. Poco más hay que decir de ambos. Si no me equivoco el bueno de James la grabó en 1967, y venia como cara A de single acompañada de Stagger Lee. En fin, os dejo que deis al play y disfrutéis de esta magnifica versión del clásico Fever, la cual sin duda alguna, junta a la interpretada por La Lupe, es mi versión favorita, aunque me quedo con los arreglos de la que os traigo hoy. Delicia.

REAL WILD CHILD - Ivan

La verdad eu hoy tengo pocas ganas de traducir, así que os pongo la descripción en inglés... In 1958 he did release the single "Real Wild Child" — having heard Johnny O'Keefe play the original during The Crickets brief visit to Australia that year — which he recorded under the pseudonym Ivan, with Buddy Holly on guitar and backing vocals. It was a minor chart entry in 1958 and the first studio recording of the song that would become a rock standard. Allison also sang on a few later releases by the Crickets, both singles and album tracks. In their early days at the Lubbock Youth Center, Buddy Holly's vocals and guitar were backed only by Allison's drumming, allowing for some of Holly's best guitar work.[citation needed] Over time, Allison's rhythm backup ranged from slapping hands-on-knees or hand-clapping the beat to a modal plainness of cymbal drumming.[4] His snappy cracks at the snare drum gave power to the songs released under the name The Crickets. Later songs, released under Buddy Holly's own name, were softer in tone and filled with innocence and longing. On these, Allison played only tom-toms in keeping with the sound of the vocals.[5] His work on The Crickets recordings gave the records much of their distinctiveness and has influenced subsequent generations of Rock and roll drummers. TOSSIN' AND TURNIN' - Dave Davani Four

Un tema curioso y buenísimo el que traemos hoy, una delicia. Tossin' And Turnin', una versión del bueno de Bobby Lewis, interpretada por Dave Davani Four. Para que engañaros, poco se de esta banda británica de los 60's, salvo que principalmente eran una banda instrumental, en la cual destacaba el Hammond del amigo Dave sobre el resto, con gran influencia del jazz pra crear su propio estilo, aunque este tema no sea el mejor ejemplo de ello. Destacar que fueron los compositores del famosos tema Top of the Pops para el programa del mismo nombre. Y como apunte final, tampoco se más de ellos, decir que Roy Folcher, el bateria, estuvo en la lista de sospechosos de haber realizado el primer disparo al aire durante el asesinato de J.F. Kennedy.
